Mark Stone and the Dirty Country Band previously released a self-titled debut EP that was primarily performed by Stone, which was met in the music community to notable acclaim, even scoring Stone a nomination at the I Love Music Awards for the song ‘Drink the Pain Away.’ In January 2015, Mark Stone and the Dirty Country Band released the full album ‘The Sequel,’ which was heralded by the Austin Chronicle as “what a honky tonk bar brawl between Skynyrd, The Eagles, and Alice in Chains would sound like.” More recently, however, Stone has taken the band on the road and filled its positions with Todd Jameson on bass and Johnny Strutt on drums.
They’ve taken the stage at venues like SXSW and the Moondance Jammin Country Fest. They’ve quickly become one of the premier country rock acts in the indie scene, so much so that they were selected as one of eight bands to perform in the Hard Rock Rising Midwest Regional Battle of the Bands. (The competition fielded over 1,000 entries.)
